Thursdays, May 22nd – July 10th, 2014 — For those who are grieving the death of their spouse or partner within the past two years. This group will focus on the issues facing younger spouses including taking on new roles, self-care, coping skills, and getting support. We will provide dinner and childcare.

An Event in Support of our Community… Understanding, Preventing and Coping with Teen Suicide
Wednesday, May 1st, 2013 — This evening’s program will address teen suicide, arming community members with education and tools to better understand suicide and to identify the signs and symptoms of depression and mental illness. By increasing the dialogue around this difficult topic, we hope you will leave with a greater comfort level in initiating conversations with children, teens and loved ones looking for comfort, support and help.
Barr-Harris Children’s Grief Center: Downtown Chicago & Deerfield Workshops
Saturdays, February 16th through April 13th, 2013 — These workshops are designed to provide critical information regarding the impact of parent loss on children and their families, along with a variety of appropriate treatment approaches and strategies.
Sudden Loss Conference on Help, Healing and Hope
November 14th, 2012 — This initiative, in partnership with the Jewish Healing Network of Chicago, will take place on November 14th, 2012. We will host the Lauri S. Bauer Foundation for Sudden Loss Conference on Help, Healing and Hope after Loss. This two part conference will be led by internationally renowned grief expert Dr. Kenneth Doka, PhD and a panel of experts.
