About Lauri

Lauri was a wonder.

She lived her life as a phenomenal mother, wife, sister, daughter and friend.

She treasured time with her three boys and was at every basketball, baseball, football and volleyball game they played; always with a smile on her face, licorice and phone in hand.

She cherished her husband and was so deeply loved in return. They lived a modern, fairy tale romance.

She valued family time and was the glue that kept her very large, extended family tightly bound.

She adored her friends and made sure both old and new relationships were properly nourished with love and kindness.

Lauri was an animal lover and doted on her three dogs. She loved to shop and had an excellent eye for style. She volunteered at each of her boy’s schools. Lauri loved to entertain. She was honest. She smiled and touched your heart. She fought for things she believed in. She loved to laugh. She enjoyed a good cocktail. She was so much for so many.

Simply said, she touched so many people with her positive light that her legacy will carry on through each and every one of them.

Let Lauri’s legacy and spirit live on through the Lauri S. Bauer Foundation for Sudden Loss. May every little bit of help, healing and hope that we can offer others be a small testament to our love for Lauri.

Lauri S. Bauer Foundation

Our Mission

The mission of the Lauri S. Bauer Foundation For Sudden Loss is to give HELP, HEALING and HOPE to families that have suffered a sudden loss or crisis.

Lauri was a healthy, beautiful 43 year old wife, daughter, sister and friend to many and mother of three sons. Tragically, on January 5th, 2011, Lauri died of a sudden heart arrhythmia.

Despite our tragedy, we have been fortunate to have a support network of incredible family and friends to help us through the pain and ultimately recapture our lives. It has also allowed the many that Lauri touched to begin the long and difficult journey of healing.

Unfortunately, many families do not have these resources. The purpose of this foundation is to help those who have suffered a sudden loss and in need of assistance reclaim their lives.

Funds will subsidize various programs including grief counseling and other forms of support required for the physical and spiritual journey of recovery.

Our aim is to help others, give them the tools to heal and watch them find hope after experiencing a sudden loss.

How We Help

Through the generosity of friends, family and the community at large, we have been able to make a difference for thousands of grieving children and their families. We have now raised over $600,000 and these funds are being put back into the community every day in a variety of programs designed by our Foundation in conjunction with our recipient organizations. However, the common thread in everything we do is grief support for children and families.

Our story. The Lauri S. Bauer Foundation, a not-for-profit 501(c)(3), was founded by Lauri’s friends and family in her honor to give HELP, HEALING and HOPE to children and their families that have suffered a sudden loss or crisis. Lauri was a healthy, beautiful 43 year old wife, daughter, sister, friend and mother of three sons when she died of a sudden heart arrhythmia on January 5th, 2011.

As we quickly learned, the range of issues and emotions ran from difficult to near impossible. What we couldn’t understand at the time was the breadth of the support network required to move forward with our lives. Fortunately, we were blessed with access to resources, a strong family and incredible friends who helped us begin the long and difficult journey of healing. We also quickly understood that many others are not so fortunate.

With that in mind, we have created this Foundation in memory of Lauri to give help, healing and hope to those families less fortunate that have suffered a sudden loss or crisis, and to help those in need of assistance through the physical and spiritual journey of recovery.
